Board games. Beer. Pop culture. And a little drunken philosophy.

Ep. 61: Hot, Brothy Audio Soup

In this episode, we review the new Kickstarter hotness with Fantastic Factories, plan Producer Ross’s bachelor party, and try to combat our holiday scroogery.

Three Floyds Brewing Gumballhead Wheat Beer (3): In Dissecting Our Fun, we’ve played that iconographic engine builder Fantastic Factory and loved it.

New Holland Brewing Dragon’s Milk Raspberry Hibiscus Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout (4): Thanksgiving looms ahead. We help you make a beer shopping list for the big meal with We Make a Pair.

Biere Artisanale La Sirene Praline Belgium Style Chocolate Stout (1): The Armchair Directors discuss the inherent contradiction of “Fuck the System” movies like the Joker.

New Holland Brewing Dragon’s Milk Oatmeal Cookie Bourbon Barrel-Aged Stout with Cinnamon, Raisins, Brown Sugar, Oats, and Vanilla Extract (3): Fall is here…at least for the week or so climate change will allow the season to exist. We discuss what we’re most looking forward to in Ask Mixed Six.

Batch Brewing Company Belgian Dark Stong Ale Antwerp’s Placebo One Year Port Barrel (3): In this Mixed Six Mock Draft, we take a blank check, anything-goes approach to planning one producer’s bachelor party.

New Holland Brewing Dragon’s Milk Orange Chocolate Bourbon Barrel-Aged Stout with natural Flavors (4): Finally Drunk Enough, Caleb tries to confront his Millenially-induced holiday scroogery before it harms everyone’s fun.

Ep. 51: They Deleted the Tweet!

We got caught! Cheese-it! It’s the fuzz! (Just go with it; it’ll make sense in a second) Anyway, we did an episode on the run from the beer assassins come to exact revenge. We talk about Christmas decorations, writing utensils, and a crack cereal-mascot commando team.

Six Mile Bridge–Blood Orange Wit: In Dissecting Our Fun, we talk about digital boardgames and whether or not they fulfill the basic function of an analog experience.

2nd Shift Brewing Hibiscus Wit — Belgian-Style Wit Beer Brewed with Spices: In This Was a Mistake, we draw the line between festive and tacky on Christmas decorations.

Golden Road Pineapple Cart — Pineapple Wheat Ale with Blood Orange and Strawberry: It’s a fire sale! Ask Mixed Six.

Founder’s Brewing Rubaeus Pure Raspberry Ale: The Mixed Six Mock Draft assembles a rag-tag team of commandos made of cereal mascots.

Avery Brewing Maharaja IPA imperial India Pale Ale: The Professional Drinkers lament the common problem of reserving and preserving alcohol for special occasions.

Blue Point Brewing Company Citrus Plunge IPA: We’re finally Drunk Enough to attack the most fundamental problem of our age.

Ep. 50: The Stillwater Retirement

It is our 50th episode. Absolutely crazy things have come this far. Thank you so much for helping us make this silly show so big and successful. To celebrate on our end, we brought in nearly an entire episode of our fan favorite brewer: Stillwater Artisinal Ales. Join us as we run the tastebud gauntlet!

Stillwater Artisinal’s and Two Roads Brewing’s Ground Loop Sour Saison: In Dissecting Our Fun, we talk about Illusion and Pandasaurus’s domination of the back-pocket gaming market.

Stillwater Artisinal’s Cellar Door — a Dry-hopped Farmhouse Wheat Ale with Sage: Janis wants to know how to handle an open bar at a professional engagement. The Professional Drinkers have some things to say.

Stillwater Super Hop — a Neo-Tropic Pale Ale: Armchair Director sees us redacting movies out of a cinema canon for the good of all mankind.

Stillwater Artisanal’s Strobe Lights — Double Dry Hopped India Pale Ale: Chris wants to know about the ethics of voting for yourself. He Asked Mixed Six, and lo, we did answer.

Omnipollo’s Shoutao — A Peach Slush IPA: Mixed Six Mock Draft has to staff a Cheers-esque bar with nothing but fictional protagonists.

Stillwater Artisinal’s Recess Dry Hopped Sour Ale with Raspberries: We (or at least one of us) gets Drunk Enough to talk about the value of a poker face and whether or not it can be developed.

Ep. 43: Welcome to Cheese Month

Look…sometimes you look back at your rating system and realize all the rating systems you’ve come up with in the last month have something to do with cheese. It happens to the best of us. Diets are hard, y’all. Best to point it out early and move on. Luckily, we also managed to talk through an episode between our desperate pleading for cheddar. We hope you enjoy it more than we enjoy the cheese-deficient hell  that is existence.

Evil Twin Brewing’s C is for Cherry: We Dissect the Fun of games with entirely asymmetrical, random win objectives. Is the novelty helping or hurting?

Left Hand Brewing Wheels Gose ‘Round: With an odd tie in the Twitter poll, our would-not-be writers have to develop a Slasher Sci-fi story in We’ll Never B’Author.

Sailors Grave Brewing’s Down She Gose: Sebastian Asks Mixed Six about the value of intentionally provocative art.

Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co. Kentucky Honey Barrel Brown Ale: This Mixed Six Mock Draft staffs a block party with superheroes. It’s not like they have anything better to do. Community policing at its finest!

Prancing Pony Brewery’s Hopwork Orange American Pale Ale: Spencer finally watched the most base-level of anime suggestions: Studio Gibili films. His deeply normal brain is even more deeply confused. We try to Nerdsplain him out of his fugue state.

Country Boy Brewing’s Key Lime Cougar Bait: Finally Drunk Enough to do a Roger Ebert impression, we discuss the denominational crisis brought about by playing a backer-donated copy of Tales from the Arabian Nights. What does it mean to be a game?

Music: Tracks 2-8 of Return of the Soul

Ep. 40: The Scooby Snacks are Heroin

I already named an episode based off a bad hot dog pun…then Spencer did this rating system. Frankly, I’m at a loss. I’ve just been totally sabotaged. Let’s get this over with. The episode is pretty okay, I guess.

Blue Mountain Barrel House Series Dark Hollow: Imperial Stout Aged in Oak Bourbon Barrels: In Dissecting Our Fun, we’ve played Mountains of Madness and enjoyed it. We debate whether it’s really a Lovecraftian game at all, or if perhaps it is the best Lovecraftian board game.

Smartmouth Brewing Company Chaotic Neutral IPA: Armchair Director makes a case for movies destroyed by a single casting choice.

Kindred Spirit Brewing Strawberry Milkshake Ale: Ale brewed with fruit and lactose: In Sportsplainer, Spencer gives us nerds some talking points so we can camouflage ourselves in the endless Lebron James v. Michael Jordan debate.

Virginia Beer Co Wrenish Rye: In the tradition of The Toys That Made Us, James Burns Asks Mixed Six about the toys that made them.

Alewerks Brewing Company Paycheck Porter Robust American Porter with Rich Character: The Mixed Six Mock Draft has to cast a new version of Scooby-Doo using only rock musicians.

Evolution Craft Brewing’s Pine’hop’le Pineapple India Pale Ale: Where is your line for sharing? How do we draw it? Drunk Enough tries to examine the border before tripping over it.

Ep. 35: DeVostitutes

Our friend Baz is in town this week for an episode as jam-packed with content as Producer Ross’s table was packed with portly men. We got mock drafts, pairings, rapid fire question answering, and tasty beverages galore. Join us!

Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales Bamarillo: Get all your boxes in a row with this Dissecting Our Fun about spatial mechanics in board games.

Charleville Vineyard Brewing Flanders Red: In this Mixed Six Mock Draft, we create three, competition-ready roller derby teams out of living political figures.

2nd Shift Brewing’s Technical Ecstasy: Is teaching English the same as teaching Rhetoric? Find out in this episode’s COM Corner.

Uinta Brewing Co Lime Pilsner: In We Make a Pair, we select the finest alcoholic beverage choice to wash down your preferred brand of philosophy.

Stillwater Artisanal’s Insetto: It’s time for a fire sale! All questions must go in this edition of Ask Mixed Six.

Cathedral Square Brewery’s Gabriel Double India Pale Ale: Spencer’s Drunk Enough to drop some musings about agency on his co-hosts.

Ep. 29: Drinking the Forms

Howdy everyone! Welcome back to The Mixed Six. Like Greek philosophers of old, join us as we stroll the gardens and parthenon, discussing the nature of truth and important topics of the day. But we’ll be more buzzed because our beer has more alcohol than that crappy B.C. wine.

Santa Fe Brewing Co Adobe Igloo Winter Ale Brewed with Cacao and Chile: In Dissecting Our Fun, people need to know the steps towards backing a winner in the tabletop Kickstarter space. We lay down our Mixed Six investment tips.

Big Muddy Brewing Blueberry Blonde Ale Brewed with natural Blueberry Flavor: The Mixed Six Mock Draft tasks us with curating the best compilation of one-hit wonders of all time. Spencer and Caleb square-off in the arena.

Omnipollo’s Pleroma Raspberry Crème Brûlée Sour Ale Brewed with Lactose Sugar with Raspberries and Vanilla Added: Welp…we tried to poison Spencer. And then people Ask Mixed Six what to do about postmodernism gone too far.

Wasatch Brewery Polygamy Nitro Porter: In Ready Player Drunk, Ross and Caleb explain to Spencer about the dark underground economy built around video game coimpletionism.

Main St. 4204 Brewing Co Strawberry Juele: As Professional Drinkers, we couldn’t pass up a question like Chris’s: what beer represents the platonic ideal of the five-point rating system.

Ska Brewing’s Modus Operandi India Pale Ale: Finally Drunk Enough, we discuss the possibility of turning off the impulse to make narrative in this modern age.

Songs by Peatu from the album Memento Mori

Ep. 25: Belated October Oktoberfest

Welcome back everyone! We didn’t want to let October go by without celebrating Oktoberfest and thus, ironically, being two months late instead of one. Enjoy this themed episode of Oktoberfest brews!

Odell Brewing Co Oktoberfest Marzen Style Lager: In Dissecting Our Fun, Spencer and Caleb gamble their limited resources on who gets to talk first about the mechanic of bidding for turn order.

Bell’s Brewing Oktoberfest Beer: Steven Lee and Alex B. (and my MAD RHYMES) have concerns about movie theaters. The two hosts couldn’t have two more desperate opinions on the matter in Armchair Director.

Great Divide Brewing Co. Hoss Oktoberfest Lager: Jesus…it just doesn’t end, does it? In Sportsplainer, we have to look at the Kaepernick controversy again now that the Cheeto in Chief has weighed in.

Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest Fester: Keith wants to know about the use and abuse of logical fallacies in internet argument. This COM Corner calls people out for their Fallacy Fallacies, thus committing Fallacy Fallacy Fallacies.

Schlafly Oktoberfest: Stuff was getting to heavy, so Mixed Six Mock Draft is about shipping our top 3 fictional couples on an actual ship.

Mother’s Oktoberfest AND Horny Goat Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter: In this double-fisted Drunk Enough, Spence and Caleb deepen their codependence by discussing their mutual guilt over leaving professions.

Ep. 23: Mrs. Gas-Spewing Metal Orb

Choose the form of your destroyer.

The Destiny 2 servers were down for maintenance, so we managed to get a podcast out in-between fixes. If, like us, you have also been released from your virtual prison long enough to listen, we’d appreciate it if you checked out our Patreon before we jack back into the Playstation Network like the Lawnmower Man.

Narragansett’s Lovecraft The Temple: Fittingly for the beer, Brownie is concerned about drowning in Cthulhu games and other thematic gluts. A guy who wrote a zombie game in 2017 gives his opinion in Dissecting Our Fun.

Sun King Brewery King’s Reserve: In This Was a Mistake, we unpack the mistakes your job’s dress code is likely making.

Boulevard’s Dark Truth: Ask Mixed Six wants to know how to persuade people. Aside from paying $4 to have a question answered, we give additional advice.

Urban Chestnut’s Moon Monkey: No one asked for it, but Mixed Six Mock Draft is back with fictional characters used to teach core subjects in a high school.

Abita To-Gose: In Getting Lit(erature), Spencer and Caleb coin a new genre called “The Trash Canon” and populate its loathsome shelves.

Alltech’s Lexington Brewing Co.’s Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale: Finally Drunk Enough, we count our calories and lament the difficulties of eating a balanced media diet.

Ep. 19: This Entire Episode Was the Mistake

I PROMISE YOU THIS IS EPISODE 19. We recorded this before realizing that we have to do a separate numbering system for the Patreon extras, so forgive our mislabeling. As you know, Producer Ross does not edit things.

Still high off the thrill of hitting our first Patreon benchmark, we made a terrible choice and decided to do an episode with beer of…questionable craft credentials. Hopefully the conversation isn’t dependent upon how our tastebuds are feeling. Listen to yourself and find out!

Anheuser Busch’s Natural Light: In Dissecting Our Fun, we jump back on that science game jam and play Evolution. It’s like Spore but not terrible!

Anheuser Busch’s Busch Light: Matt suggested we talk about our Top 3 2000’s pop songs; don’t mind if we do! We’re off to the Jukebox in Back.

Michelob Ultra: In Ask Mixed Six, Ben and Angie want to know how friendships change in the digital age.

Bud Light: In our 2nd Mixed Six Mock Draft, we staff the best fictional band we can out of the best fictional musicians.

Miller Lite: We talk about our top 3 old TV shows (80’s or older) in this week’s Binge Binger.

Coors Light: First off, no one is ever Drunk Enough for this beer. Secondly, we talk about the relationship between vanity and ethics. You know…light-hearted party talk.
